Cyprus remains a safe and reliable destination

The Limassol Tourism Development and Promotion Company (LTC) held meetings this week at its offices with the President of PASYXE Limassol, Mr. Christos Tsanos, and STEK member Ms. Revekka Pieridou, aiming to assess the data shaping the tourism sector due to the situation in the wider region, as well as the further qualitative upgrade of Limassol’s tourism product.

The President of LTC, Mr. Andreas Tsoloftas, emphasized that Cyprus continues to be a stable and safe destination for visitors and that LTC closely and continuously monitors developments in the region, as well as any potential impacts on the tourism sector. At the same time, it maintains open communication with the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and professional bodies in the industry. As he noted, coordination among tourism stakeholders is particularly important to ensure the stability and resilience of Limassol’s tourism product.

Mr. Christos Tsanos stated that the city’s hotel sector is closely monitoring international developments, noting that demand so far remains at stable levels, with only minor variations compared to last year. He stressed that Cyprus continues to be considered a safe and reliable tourist destination, while the quality of services offered by Limassol’s hotels strengthens visitors’ confidence. At the same time, he underlined that despite the general concern caused by international developments, tourist flows to Cyprus and Limassol continue normally, pointing out that the coordinated effort of the tourism sector and the state is crucial for maintaining the country’s positive image in international markets.

Ms. Revekka Pieridou noted that any potential losses during the current period are expected to recover in the coming months, particularly in view of the Easter holidays.

LTC highlights the importance of composure, cooperation, and coordination among all stakeholders in order to ensure the resilience of the tourism sector and maintain Limassol’s positive image as a safe and high-quality destination.

At the same time, promotional activities for Limassol in international markets continue as normal, aiming to strengthen the destination’s presence and maintain its tourism momentum for the current and upcoming period.
