Car Free Day returns to Limassol under the slogan “Laou Laou”, transforming part of Gladstonos Street into a vibrant public space for walking, cycling, play, creativity and community activities.
The section from the Pentadromos traffic lights, at the junction with Agias Zonis and Anexartisias Streets, to the junction with Karaiskaki Street will be temporarily closed to motorised traffic.
This year’s message, “Limassol moves Laou Laou”, draws on the Cypriot expression “λάου λάου”, meaning “slowly, gently”. It invites everyone to leave the rush behind, move at a gentler pace and experience the city in a different way.
The event is co-organised by Limassol Municipality, Limassol Tourism Board, Friends of the Earth Cyprus and OPU (Organisation for Positive Urbanism).
