On Sunday, September 20th, 2026, from 10:00am to 8:00pm, Gladstonos Street moves “Laou Laou” and transforms into a vibrant, safe and accessible space for everyone!
As part of European Mobility Week 2026, under this year’s theme “Mobility for Everyone”, Limassol joins the European campaign promoting more sustainable, safe and inclusive ways of getting around.
For one full day, a section of Gladstonos Street, from the Pentadromos traffic lights, at the junction with Agias Zonis and Anexartisias Streets, to the junction with Karaiskaki Street, will open up for walking, cycling, playing, creating, meeting and taking part.
“Laou Laou”, which means “slowly” in the Cypriot dialect, invites us to take a break from the rush of everyday life and experience the neighbourhood in a different way. Walk, cycle, ride a scooter, meet others, play and enjoy public space with greater comfort and safety.
The Car-Free Day is a celebration for all ages, featuring activities that highlight sustainable mobility, accessibility, creativity, intergenerational connection and neighbourhood life.
Local businesses, residents and visitors are invited to become part of the day and help create a more vibrant and people-friendly Gladstonos Street.
