Synopsis
“Dry stone construction – stone upon stone, without mortar. An ancient building technique that has accompanied human ingenuity since antiquity, serving essential purposes such as creating arable land from barren terrain, threshing agricultural products, producing tar, lime and gypsum, and managing water resources. Today, it remains an important tool for enhancing biodiversity, preserving the landscape, and combating land desertification.
This documentary explores the identity of the Cypriot rural landscape and tells the story of the anonymous craftspeople whose knowledge and skill shaped the countryside for generations.”
