The route is for expert cyclists who wish to experience the beautiful villages of Omodos, Vasa, Arsos, Mantria, Kato Platres, Pano Platres, Pera Pedi, Koilani, Vouni, Agios Ambrosios and Potamia.

Experienced cyclists can access this route easily as there is not much traffic.

Route Profile

The route is mostly on asphalt surface while there are small parts of the route on cobbled road in Omodos, Vasa, Arsos and Vouni. The route is challenging with both up-hills and downhills. There are no high slopes on the road and in several points the road is narrow with some sharp turns. Cyclists need to be careful. Good fitness required. Advanced riding skills necessary.

Short description for tourists

The starting point is the village of Omodos, that is one of the most beautiful wine villages of the Limassol region. In Omodos you can visit Timios Stavros Monastery that according to the legend has been built by Agia Eleni. Also, in Omodos you can visit the old grape press (Linos) for producing wine and you can admire the traditional stone houses as well as the picturesque, cobbled streets of the village.

The route takes you to Vasa village where the ride offers you wonderful views of the vineyards in the area. Along with the breathtaking scenery, an easy-going atmosphere make Vasa village a perfect stop for a small break.

Next comes Arsos, a beautiful village which has a long history as one of the oldest wine-making villages in Cyprus.

After Arsos, making your way to Agios Nikolaos you will take a sharp right turn that leads you to one of the most charming landscapes of the route. The view includes the vineyards of Omodos, dense forests and the Mediterranean Sea.

Soon you will be on the outskirts of the Troodos Mountains towards Platres village, one of the largest mountain villages in Cyprus, which is also the highest point of this route.

On the way back, the route leads you close to Millomeri waterfalls.

As you continue on this route through Pera Pedi, you will reach Koilani and Vouni, two picturesque wine villages. The stone build red tiled houses with balconies look pretty along with the scenic view of plants and trees. Talk with the locals there and listen to the interesting history of this place.

Next village you will pass Agios Ambrosios village and finish the ride at Omodos passing via Potamiou village.

There are many wineries along the route that offer wine-tasting. Each of these wineries produces unique flavorful wine to give your taste buds a refreshing taste. Along this route there are many beautiful villages that have heavy rainfall every year. Other than vineyards, the land produces many other delicious fruits like apples, prunes, apricots, peaches and pears. Visit these scenic natural landscapes and enjoy these tasty fresh fruits.
