Nature Study Trail -Girismata
The beautiful village of Pareklisia is a well-known summer tourist destination, but its inland remains less popular and visited than its seaside area. The hidden gems of Pareklisia will show you authentic and picturesque places in the lesser-known parts of the village, including the highlights of the Girismata Trail. The trail will take you through the forest area which includes a lot of water elements, such as a river to be crossed and small waterfalls in different points. This used to be the route connecting Prastio and Pareklisia village in the old times, when people were moving with donkeys, horses or on foot. Along the way you will be able to explore the rich flora and fauna of the area and if you are lucky you will come across the magnificent and rare Bonelli’s Eagle. Before you reach the end of this linear trail, you will have time to wander and discover beautiful view-points that offer rest areas for hikers.

Points of interest: A unique cultural voyage through time. Most of the travelling between Pareklisia and Prasteio of Kellaki was by donkeys. The entire route includes a magnificent path where the walker will encounter both dry stones and verdant vegetation. The path goes through the Limassol forest with breathtaking views of the sea and it follows the argaki (small water flow). At various locations along the route, the path crosses the Argaki; the sounds of the water and the aromas of nature create an idyllic atmosphere. The path is circular and begins at Pareklisia, in the vicinity of Manoulades area.

Σημεία Ενδιαφέροντος: Γυρίσματα στον χρόνο, μία ιδιαίτερη πολιτιστική διαδρομή στον χρόνο. Η όλη διαδρομή περιλαμβάνει ένα πανέμορφο μονοπάτι το οποίο χρησιμοποιούσαν οι κάτοικοι στις μετακινήσεις τους από και προς την Παρεκκλησιά και το Πραστειό Κελλακίου ως επί το πλείστον με γαϊδούρια. Ο περιπατητής θα συναντήσει ξερολιθιές κατά μήκος της διαδρομής, όπως και πλούσια βλάστηση. Η διαδρομή διασχίζει το δάσος Λεμεσού με μοναδική θέα την θάλασσα και τον κόλπο της Λεμεσού, ακολουθώντας παράλληλα το αργάκι (αρκάτζι-μικρή ροή νέρου) της κοινότητας. Σε διάφορα σημεία της διαδρομής το μονοπάτι διασχίζει το αργάκι , οι ήχοι από το νερό όπως και οι μυρωδιές της φύσης συνθέτουν ένα ειδυλλιακό περιβάλλον. Το μονοπάτι είναι κυκλικό με σημείο εκκίνησης την Παρεκκλησια στην περιοχή Μανουλάδες.
